Pierre Hails Saint Lucia’s Latest Tourism Award

Prime Minister Philip J. Pierre has described Saint Lucia as a haven of love and tranquility in addition to its natural splendour, in response to the Island’s latest tourism accolade.

Pierre, a former Tourism Minister, wrote the remarks on Facebook after accepting Saint Lucia’s award for the World’s Leading Honeymoon Destination on behalf of the people of this country.

The Saint Lucia Prime Minister accepted the prestigious World Travel Awards accolade while attending COP28 in Dubai.

Saint Lucia has now received the Best Honeymoon Destination award for the 15th time.

“Our island is not just a destination; it is a haven of love, tranquility, and natural splendour,” Pierre asserted.

He said the achievement reflects the dedication of Saint Lucia’s tourism industry and the warmth of its people who contribute to making the Island a world-class honeymoon destination.

According to the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority (SLTA), Saint Lucia’s 15th win in the Honeymoon Destination category solidifies its status as a premier choice for couples seeking a romantic and idyllic escape.

The SLTA said the Island provides an unparalleled experience for honeymooners seeking the perfect blend of luxury, natural beauty, adventure, and authentic Caribbean hospitality.

“From pristine beaches and lush rainforests to luxurious resorts and vibrant local culture, the island has consistently raised the bar by providing an enchanting backdrop for couples to celebrate their love and create lasting memories,” the Authority said in a release.

Also ask the hotel’s to share the wealth of the island with the workers and every St Lucian and their Families.

  2. It is great news hearing about the achievements St. Lucia has gained over the years, but the INDUSTRY which directly contributing to these top prizes and recognition should do more towards payment period for the LOCAL FARMERS & CRAFT WORKERS & ARTISANS as a whole.

Try paying these HARD WORING & CREATIVE PEOPLE for their goods that they sell to SOME OF the HOTELS.

For the CRAFTERS, please allow them a place at the facility with REASONABLE RENTAL CONDITIONS to SELL & MARKET their LOCALLY PRODUCED GOODS
