Soufriere Man Charged After Being Shot During Arrest

Police charged a Soufriere man with multiple offences days after he sustained a gunshot injury during his arrest.

The police identified the man as Francis Pascal of Fond Benier, Soufriere.

On Saturday, Soufriere officers charged the thirty-four-year-old with Assault, Resisting Arrest, and Possession of a Firearm and Ammunition.

The charges relate to an incident on Monday, March 11, 2024.

A police release stated that at about 7:15 p.m. on that date, Soufriere Police Station officers arrested a male in possession of a firearm and ammunition at Fond Bernier.

The officers recovered a Smith and Wesson pistol and one magazine containing one .40 round of ammunition on his person.

According to the police, the man sustained a gunshot injury during his arrest.

He received medical attention and was reported to be in stable condition at the time.

  1. Where is his picture or mug shot? Was he detained and in police custody or in jail or out on bail? Public wants to know.

  2. Saint Lucians like people business too much. He’s been charged but has not gone through court and found guilty, he’s not on the run. The people who need to know what he looks like already know.
