On Wednesday, Saint Lucia Fire Service (SLFS) personnel rushed eight people to the hospital after a bus ran off the road at Vide Bouteille, Castries.

At about 4:28 pm, emergency responders learned of the incident near Peter & Company Auto.

When they arrived, they discovered that the victims appeared to have sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the bus, which was heading towards Castries with employees of a local business establishment, declined emergency transportation to a medical facility.

The incident added to a spate of road accidents since the beginning of the year, resulting in injuries to several individuals and seven fatalities so far for 2024.

  1. This is gross negligence on the part of the authorities, the driver should be taken for a drug test, not given a choice to just walk away. The bill for this should be covered by the H & S Levy.
