Intruders Caught On Camera In Castries

In the wee hours of Saturday morning, CCTV cameras recorded two men entering a yard in Carielle, Castries, but they did not appear to have left with anything of value.

A third individual waited on the road, apparently as a lookout.

“There is no gate, so they just came in, but we haven’t noticed anything missing,” one resident told St. Lucia Times.

“They went to the verandah of a tenant downstairs,” the resident, who requested not to be identified, disclosed.

The Carielle resident said the tenant’s CCTV camera captured one of the intruders, who seemed unaware he was being recorded and at one point, looked directly into the lens.

“We have a clear picture. He was in the verandah. I don’t know what he was looking for,” the woman stated.

She told St. Lucia Times it was not the first such occurrence at the building, which houses three apartments, and suggested that it may have involved different individuals on each occasion.

Previously, on separate occasions, intruders stole a motion sensor outdoor light and broke into a vehicle.

The homeowner suggested that they may have expected to find cash in the vehicle, but there was none.

The Carielle resident advised citizens to take necessary measures to deter crime.

In the case of Saturday morning’s incident, she observed that CCTV cameras had captured the image of one of the intruders.

The homeowner disclosed plans to forward the image to the police.

“The cameras do help,” she told St. Lucia Times.

She said the incident occurred shortly after 3 am, after which the CCTV camera footage showed the men going across to a neighbour’s residence.

“We don’t know what they did there. They may also have gone to other places,” the resident revealed.

  1. Don’t forget their human rights when you catch them inside your house. Remember, you can’t beat them down to a pulp. That is a gross violation. Hand them a weapon so the fight can be even. Just try me.

  2. So it’s expected that the faces of the intruders would be shown in the news article and everywhere else, by now the images should have gone viral! And the ‘enablers of the perpetrators’, aka ‘human rights lawyers’, waiting to hear from you!

The current administration even enact a wage rate as a start but all they do is seat on the block or stay at their mothers home and watch progressive people
