Tisson Commits to Play D2 Soccer

A young Saint Lucian goalkeeper will be taking his talents to the next level in the next school year. DeAndre Tisson has committed to play at Emmanuel University.

The NCAA Division II Lions men’s football (or ‘soccer’) team plays in Franklin Springs, Georgia, USA, and Emmanuel is a small, private Christian college.

“Grateful to announce my verbal commitment to play Division 2 soccer and further my academics at Emmanuel University,” said Tisson via his Instagram account.

“All Glory to God. Big thanks to my parents, teammates, and friends for their support. I’d also like to thank all my Coaches, Flow Lancers FC, the Saint Lucia Football Association, and High Mowing Boys Soccer. Go Lions!”

In the 2019 Bank of Saint Lucia and LUCELEC Youth Tournament, then 13-year-old Tisson won the Golden Gloves for his club team, Flow Lancers FC. He played for Lancers in the local Division 2 competition, and represented Saint Lucia at the Under-17 level. Tisson then moved on to High Mowing School, an independent private, co-educational, day and boarding school, located in Wilton, New Hampshire, USA.

Footballers from more than 20 countries study at High Mowing, training and competing with Black Rock FC. Aside from football, their programmes focus on building character, academic achievement, responsibility and life skills.

Two years later, now 18, standing at six feet and weighing in at 170 pounds, Tisson is expected to bring athleticism, shot-stopping prowess, and command of the penalty box to the Lions. He continues his academic and sporting journey, and will certainly remain on the radar for the Under-19 and senior national teams.
