Preliminary reports indicate that a male individual was snorkelling in the area when he was struck by a vessel.

He was transported by private means to the Soufrière Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. A medical examiner pronounced him dead at 12 p.m.

The deceased has been identified as 31-year-old Sheram Lionel of Trois Piton, Castries.

Police say investigations into the incident are ongoing.
