Saint Lucian girls in Curaçao for Concacaf U17

The Saint Lucia Football Association has named a 19-member squad to participate in Round One of the 2026 Concacaf Women’s Under-17 Qualifiers. The team gets into action on January 26. They are among 28 teams for this second edition of the Concacaf U17 Women’s Qualifiers.

Saint Lucia are in Group C, along with Haiti, Guatemala, the Cayman Islands, and Antigua and Barbuda. Their matches will be played at Stadion Rignaal ‘Jean’ Francisca in Curaçao. Following round-robin play, the six group winners and the two best second-place finishers will advance to the Final Round.

On January 27, Saint Lucia will face what is likely to be their toughest test, going up against Haiti from 7 p.m. They next meet Guatemala on January 29 from 4 p.m. On January 31, they play Antigua and Barbuda from 4 p.m, and they close against Cayman Islands on February 2.

The national team includes several players with international experience, led by defender Hayla Samuel, a defender from El Niños, and Tori Fanis, a defender from Lancers FC.

At the other end of the pitch, many eyes will be on the youngest player in this squad, Kayla Polius, after her prolific goal-scoring exploits in last year’s Caribbean Football Union Under-14 competition. Similarly, Amaya Emmanuel was on fire in the 2024 Concacaf Under-15 series. Both have played senior football.
