It will be a battle of red in the final of the Secondary Schools Under-16 Boys’ Basketball Tournament when St Mary’s College and Castries Comprehensive face off in the finale on Thursday.
St Mary’s are aiming for their third straight title as they take on a strong CCSS team in the championship game on Thursday, May 28, at the Beausejour Gymnasium. SMC beat Entrepot Secondary, while CCSS defeated Leon Hess Comprehensive in Tuesday’s semifinals.

SMC had another big win, pulling ahead of ESS after both teams started slowly, and finished with a 40-12 victory. Daelan Magloire bounced back from a tough previous game to score 18 points, grab five rebounds and add two steals and two blocks. Ernel EJ Mason stayed consistent with 10 points, eight rebounds, and four assists. Zaieef Mann and Jaydin Monrose each collected eight rebounds.

For ESS, Yanis Mathurin led the team with four points. Kobe Francis contributed three points, seven rebounds, four assists, and two steals. Judea Gregg added two points and nine rebounds.
CCSS, who finished third last year, defeated last year’s runners-up, LHCSS 38-25. David Chandler had a monster line with 18 points, 12 rebounds, five steals, and three blocks. Hanniah Martial scored six points, Kinnai St Croix collected six rebounds and five steals, and Leshon Francis also finished with five steals.
The competition is hosted by the Ministry of Education, Youth Development, Sports and Digital Transformation.
