Three people have been charged with firearm, ammunition and controlled-drug offences following a search of a residence in Bexon, Castries.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, police said the Major Crimes Unit executed a warrant to search the premises of Tashem Preudhomme on September 29. During the search, officers recovered what police described as a quantity of cannabis resin, EC$16 310 in cash, a Glock 19 9mm pistol, a 31-round capacity extended Glock magazine and 17 rounds of 9mm ammunition.
Eight of the rounds were 9mm Luger Norma ammunition.
Thesia Preudhomme was also arrested during the search.
The following day, police formally charged Tashem and Thesia Preudhomme with firearm, ammunition and drug possession. The two were taken to the First District Court but were denied bail and remanded.
Police subsequently arrested and charged Zayne Austinay, whom they identified as a resident of Tashem Preudhomme’s household in Bexon.
Austinay was formally charged on October 2 with firearm, ammunition and drug possession.
The police statement did not provide details on his bail status.
