The prosecutor in Paris disclosed on Sunday that a suspect accused of killing three Kurdish persons in Paris informed investigators about his ‘hatred for foreigners’.
Police detained the 69-year-old man after two men and a woman were shot dead at a Kurdish cultural center and a neighboring cafe in the busy central district of the French capital.
According to the police, they thought the man was the lone shooter.
A statement from prosecutor Laure Beccuau said the suspect claimed during interrogation that a home invasion in 2016 had caused him to develop a hatred for immigrants.
The statement quoted the man as saying he had planned to commit suicide after his deadly rampage.
