The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF) has ramped up operations in the Marc community in response to a worrying spike in gun violence and the reported presence of illegal firearms.
As part of these efforts, officers from a Special Operations Team conducted a targeted search in a densely vegetated area of Marc, Bexon, on Thursday around 5 p.m. The operation led to the discovery of a Glock 9×19 pistol with its serial number removed. The firearm, equipped with an auto sear, was capable of fully automatic fire. Officers also recovered a magazine loaded with ten rounds of 9mm ammunition.
“The firearm was equipped with an auto sear, making it capable of fully automatic fire,” the RSLPF disclosed in a statement, adding that the recovery is a significant step in police efforts to curb gun-related crime and restore peace in affected communities.
“The presence of such a weapon posed a serious threat to public safety, and its removal is a testament to the ongoing commitment of law enforcement to safeguarding citizens.”
The police are now urging residents of Marc to assist in their ongoing investigations by providing any information that could lead to the recovery of additional illegal weapons or the identification of individuals involved in criminal activities. They assured all tips would be handled with strict confidentiality.
“The RSLPF remains dedicated to creating a safer environment for all and thanks the public for their continued cooperation in this mission,” the police statement concluded.

Was anyone arrested?
Well done officers. Keep the pressure up.
Police officers all you are doing a great job, but we are not hearing the outcome from the courts. Are all these cases vanishing in thin air? Why is the media not reporting on this? We are only hearing the media reporting on political issues but why not on this?
