British national fatally shot in Garrand, Babonneau

A 26-year-old British national, identified as Kenrelle O’Flaherty, was fatally shot in Garrand, Babonneau, late on October 28.

According to a statement from the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF), officers from the Babonneau Police Station responded to reports of a lifeless body along the roadway around 10:50 p.m.

Upon arrival, police discovered O’Flaherty with apparent gunshot wounds. He was later pronounced dead at the scene by a medical practitioner. O’Flaherty, who resided in Anguilla, is believed to have been visiting Saint Lucia at the time of the incident.

Police have since launched a homicide investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death. The RSLPF is urging anyone with information to contact the Major Crimes Unit at 456-3754 or 456-3756, or to make an anonymous report through the Crime Hotline (555) or the RSLPF Crime Hotline App.

Investigations are ongoing.

  1. Why do people like you wish our green and pleasant island misfortune? There are killings all over the place and nowhere is immune from crimes like murder. Right here in the UK there are lots of crimes happening. It is unfortunate that this man was killed. What I would like to know is what was he doing in that area in the first place. This is a known hotspot for all kinds of illicit activities.

A foreigner gets shot and it is all over the news with all kinds of resources put out to find the culprits. How about the murder of locals? Why are they not putting out the same resources to apprehend the suspects? All people who commit crimes should be indicted and put away. Our Criminal Justice System is currently not fir for purpose. It is run by indolent inept and incompetent individuals who think that they are above the law. This kind of attitude and thinking needs to stop. No doubt the English gutter press will get on to this and have a field day – But we should not care about the nasty tabloids and broadsheets of the UK. St Lucia we love?
